Mondango - 52M Sailing yacht

The inspiration for Mondango’s interior stems primarily from the Owners’ brief of creating a contemporary and sleek floating home for themselves and their guests in which they could cruise the world’s oceans in ultimate comfort and style. The Reymond Langton design team swiftly set up interior concepts which would provide a tranquil atmosphere - one of elegance, sophistication and luxury. The overall desired style of the interior was a combination of modern and timeless elements with a subtle Oriental influence.

The contemporary interior architecture is achieved through the underlying simplicity of her lines and detailing. Satin crown cut oak panelling with dark chocolate leather inset panels create an illusion of greater space and also generate a soothing sense of calm and luxury. Accents of exotic timber such as high gloss Macassar Ebony are used sparingly on specific pieces of furniture along with touches of vibrant, colourful silk fabrics which inject the interior scheme with spice and drama.

When boarding the aft main deck you are welcomed by a generous, informal cockpit including a sumptuous dining and lounging area. The Deck Salon is bathed in natural light due to the exceptionally large windows port and starboard. The central seating area is the focal point of this room featuring large relaxing sofas, an over-sized coffee table and an eye-catching metal artwork. This specially commissioned artwork, whose motif was inspired by an antique kimono conceals the 65” plasma TV.

Due to the Deck Salon layout being centrally orientated, Reymond Langton designed a unique radial patterned oak floor to flow around the seating area and which would draw you in and guide you from the aft entrance to the forward located Dining Room with its beautiful and again, specially commissioned papier-mâché artworks. The artwork between Dining Room and Wheelhouse consists of three panels, two of which are sliding. This arrangement of panels allows for different room set-ups. The space can be opened up by sliding two of the three panels to the centre which creates a stunning view from bow to stern. If desired the panels can be closed to create a more private and intimate space.

The cantilevered, propeller blade shaped steps of the leather staircase lead down to the Guest Area. The serenity of the Guest Lobby is enhanced with a large leather framed mirror and a specially commissioned, backlit glass artwork panel.

Every line and curve of the Guest Suites has been carefully considered and shaped to create an ergonomic, comfortable and safe interior without any sharp edges. Each one of the four Guest Suites has its own colour scheme to add zest to the calm and elegance of the interior.

The grand and spacious Master Suite with its opulence of reds, oranges and golds underline the personality of the Owners. This room tantalizes with luxurious details such as gold leaf light recesses, bronze mirrored artwork niches, a pink onyx en-suite bathroom and many more.

Mondango’s sleek and intriguing interior results from the designers’ great attention to detail, function and shape. The entire team of Reymond Langton is thrilled to see how beautifully and skilfully the design was translated by Alloy Yachts.
